Why no Connect IQ?

I'd sell my Vivoactive 3 in a heartbeat to buy the Instinct if it supported Connect IQ. Why in the world would they design a $300 watch that was incompatible with Connect IQ?

Not having CIQ is a selling point for me. It is a gimmick that I only used to change watch faces (which slowed down the Fenix 5 and drained battery). Plus the screen on the instinct is by the far the best…

I know I am replying to a Necro-thread, but I had to pipe in: This is the first watch I’ve purchased in 10 years; to replace a perfectly functioning G-Shock. This thing does everything I need, and a ton more than I want.

It would be good if Garmin atleast introduce some more watch faces through some kind of support to Connect IQ. Garmin Instinct buyers feel left out as it does not have this feature. Only 6 watch face sucks specially when we see available watch faces for most other models.

i have a question: i have the instinct tactical and when i try to use a watchface from connect iq.. eventhough my watch is in the compatible watch list for a certain watch face, when i go to download it says, I need to add my device to my account (witch i have done) so connect iq hasn't worked for me... then i tried using this site https://garmin.watchfacebuilder.com but when i go to download it, i go through all the steps.. connect it to my computer and i cant find the apps folder??

i need help please!!

CIQ is not available for the original Instinct or Instinct Solar, only Instinct 2

Instinct cannot be listed in the CIQ store at all. It is physically impossible - the option is not available to the developers, because Instinct does not have that technology. So either the user has Instinct 2, and posted in the wrong forum, or he indeed has the old Instinct, and in that case he just saw Instinct 2 at the app in the CIQ store, and thought it applies to all Instincts.

my mistake yes that was the case.. so are there any other option for watchfaces, widgets, and apps outside of CIQ
