"Disk attached was not readable by this computer.” Cannot update to Garmin Connect on my Mac.

I plugged the watch in to my computer like I do every day to upload my activity and received this massage “The disk you attached was not readable by this computer.    I am trying to trouble shoot this as I have not had this problem before over several years of use.  However, no luck so far.

    I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. If the watch is not being recognized by the computer, I would recommend the following steps: 

    • Clean the contacts on the back of the watch and cable. For this, we recommend using rubbing alcohol. 
    • Try another cable. 
    • Try another port on the computer. Avoid using USB hubs. 
    • Try powercycling the computer.
    • Try another computer as well. 
    • If the issue continues, I would also recommend trying a factory reset, with these steps:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold CONTROLfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold SET and GPS.
    3. Press CONTROL to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release GPS.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

    If this continues, the device may need to be replaced. For this, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.
