Instinct Solar's Ski & Snowboard data is not recording it properly

01/27/24: Watch stopped recording data while snowboarding. Showed a weird line in data that was neither a lift nor a run. I did 5 more runs after. Stopped it after, as normal on a completely different side of the mountain. All seemed normal. As always. Stopped. Saved. Synced.  5 runs missing.

I switched GPS to ultratrac thinking it might help.

01/31/24: I know I did snowboard less or around 10 runs. But not 20! On my data it adds several runs into one. Me walking around on the plaza, 2 runs. It used to not do this and is beyond frustrating and annoying!! It should count 1 run as 1 run, from top to bottom until lift again closes this as a run. I have no idea what happened but this is frustrating and I hope someone is fixing this soon. I took screenshots of the data with notes if anyone from engineering would like to message me and go over it. Or you can see it yourself on my data.

For that you will have to contact the Support through their website https://support.garmin.com. Garmin engineers do not hang out here, on the user forum.

Otherwise, if you want that fellow users have a look at it, and try to help, then please post a link to the concerned activity. From the description (which I admit I do not understand quite well) it looks like the watch might have lost the GPS signal due to bad conditions, or that the CPE file was expired, or perhaps the watch just needs a soft-reset, which is often needed if the firmware was recently upgraded.

  • I am sorry you have had the issue. I have sent you a Private Message to work with you directly to see what further can be done to improve your Snowboard activity metrics recorded.
