Body Battery below 5 for days, and stress always high

I've had an Instinct Solar for about 12 days, and am enjoying it. My questions/issue is with the Body Battery and Stress data. I've read that the stress is calculated from HRV, but as I can't see that data anywhere, I don't know why my stress is registered as so awful. Is it heart-rate related? Is it sunspots?

Since I've owned the Instinct, the stress number has never been below 25 and is frequently well over 50. This seems inaccurate. Is there anything I can do to calibrate this setting? Thanks.

  • Does anyone have answers to all these questions?   I’ve had this Garmin for one week and according to it I should be dead.  Stress levels are high while sleeping and body battery says I’m out of time.  Lol

  • Yeah, mine will say that my body battery is at 5 when I'm quite energetic and highly productive. I'm not sure how I'm even supposed to interpret this feature.

  • Months now of owning this Garmin tracker.  Sometimes the body battery is a reasonable amount for a week or so, then I will peg back down between zero and 5 for two weeks.  It's nonsensical, and as you said, what is the point?

Frequently my stress is very high when I'm doing absolutely nothing.  What is the driving metric for this?

  • What is the driving metric for this?

Heart Rate Variability. But it really does seem inconsistent in how it works. Some days make sense 100%, but other days it's telling me I'm done, but then I'll ride 150km on my bike and still end the day with enough energy to take care of errands.  LOL

  • I remember when I first got the body Battery feature it took about a week for numbers to show accurately. I notice this post was a month ago. Did it finally balance out?

  • Thanks for the post.  I've had the Instinct for 9 months, and more often than not I'm pegged at a body battery of 5.  Sometimes it will act like a normal person's, but weeks will go by where it doesn't really move.  Basically useless for me, so I never look at it  Glad it works for some folks.
