Delay in GPS prior to activity

What acquisition times should be expected? Right out of the box (one week ago) my watch acquired quite quickly. However, for the last 5 days it has taken 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or more time to fully connect. I’ve connected to computer, restarted, software up to date…

Sounds like an expired or corrupted ephemeris data. Restart your watch, then connect it to a computer, delete the CPE file from the folder //GARMIN/REMOTESW, check for updates with Garmin Express, disconnect…

Sounds like an expired or corrupted ephemeris data. Restart your watch, then connect it to a computer, delete the CPE file from the folder //GARMIN/REMOTESW, check for updates with Garmin Express, disconnect the cable, reconnect, verify whether the file reappeared, and then try GPS again.

Ok- what if after these steps the file does not reappear?

Repeat it. But it will reappear anyway, don't worry. You could make a backup of the old file, but in this case it is worthless, since your CPE file is likely expired or broken anyway.
