Unable to update to to 18.54 Garmin Instinct solar

Hi, am unable to to update to to 18.54 on my Instinct solar (1st Gen). Have deleted the activity files but get this error message: 'the latest software does not fit on your devices internal memory.

Please contact product support for helping updating your software'.

Ani ideas?

I am sorry there is a space issue. Sync your watch first, then through your computer go into your watch's Garmin > Activity folder and delete your prior saved activities that have already been synced…

I am sorry there is a space issue. Sync your watch first, then through your computer go into your watch's Garmin > Activity folder and delete your prior saved activities that have already been synced and backed up to your Garmin Connect account.

You should free up enough space to install the latest software update. If your issue continues, there is something else on your watch that likely does not belong there that we can track down together to have it deleted. Please feel free to highlight my name and send me a Private Message if you continue to receive the space error. I will be happy to assist you further.
