Altimeter problems during a sport activity with the clock worn by firmware 18.10

Even after the firmware update to version 18.10, I continue to have altitude detection problems wearing my INSTINCT Solar because of sweat. No problems using in the car or on the handlebar as I documented in other threads of Altimeter problems. Furthermore, having bought it with the possibility of correction of the altitude through GPS even during the activity, I would expect the Garmin technicians to restore it. Please update it!

If you want to use the GPS elevation, the just edit the data screen of the concerned activity, and add there the GPS elevation - it is among the available data fields.

  • Thank you, I already use it but it is not what I mean. Other devices like my Edge 530 correct the barometer altitude by Gps every hour and works fine. It is what I expect from my Instinct too.

  • Instinct calibrates the altimeter at the beginning of every activity, when the auto-calibration is enabled. So a solution at activities longer than an hour, would be splitting them into several parts. I think that the option "Resume Later" could work too, but did not test it. For anything beyond that, you can submit your suggestions directly to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin

  • Thank you for your answer again. You can also calibrate it manually during the activity using GPS Altitude or DEM but is not automatic .
