Garmin Instinct Solar turns off after starting of any activity

I got version 17.50 and my watch started to turn off after I turning on any activity and any set of activities. I tried to reset to defaults with full data wipe and hard reset also but none of this helped. Are there any solution for this problem? Could they lost their tightness and broke? I have them for little more than one year

  • That got it. Well done!

  • Dear friends,

Just a few days ago, I purchased myself a Garmin Instinct Solar in a splendid shade of yellow. I've grown quite fond of these watches; they're austere, functional, lightweight, and beautiful. However, I'm encountering a problem: my watch keeps shutting down spontaneously, which is quite infuriating. I've tried rebooting it, installed the 19.01 system update, and disabled vibrations, but nothing seems to help. I rarely become attached to material possessions, but these watches have truly captured my heart. How can I salvage this situation?

  • Hello 8756111.

I am very sorry to hear the watch is not working. It does appear this will need to be replaced. I would recommend contacting your local Product Support Here

  • Hello All,

It looks although I am another one suffering from the watch switching off during activities for no reason. Annoyingly when I turn it back on, it keeps the activity running (good), but seems to always lose about 1500 steps from my daily count. It was a wonderful watch when new, everything worked and the battery was really impressive, but now I am worried about logging activites because of the intermittent switch off.

Have any of you just accepted defeat and bought another decent watch (not Apple)?

    Thanks,

    Rob

  • Hi Rob, I contacted Garmin direct I was offered a new watch for $240 and to send the my watch back took about a week. For the whole process.

  • Just checking in to see if you've had it occur again after switching off the the vibration? Assume this is just for that activity type?

  • So, my watch performs as it should when it has >45% battery. It does not switch off during activites, it does not lose the step count etc. As soon as the battery is below 45% the problems occur. I am trying to kee it topped up (which is not completely ideal, it is why I bought a solar powered non-touch screen, so that I didn't have to comstantly charge it), and this is working.

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. I am happy to help investigate this concern. I will reach out to you via email to discuss this further.

  • my Instinct Solar has been working without any complaints for two years, since December 2021. I really like them. I've been using Garmin sports bracelets and watches for over 10 years, but this is the first watch that made me furious because of its accidental shutdown. Is there anything we can do about it?
