Garmin Instinct Solar turns off after starting of any activity

I got version 17.50 and my watch started to turn off after I turning on any activity and any set of activities. I tried to reset to defaults with full data wipe and hard reset also but none of this helped. Are there any solution for this problem? Could they lost their tightness and broke? I have them for little more than one year

  • Hello,

Everything was fine until updating the device to 17.50.
I now have the following issues despite factory rest (lost all of Odometer stats, thank you) :
    - Incorrect GPS records
    - Device turns off during activity
    - Battery drain (after charging to 100%, watches displays 12d of battery life, one hour later it shows 9d and keeps goign down during the day -> Error which might degrade the battery prematurely)

I do believe the software 17.50 is the root cause of all of these problems.

  • So I went to Product Support and they told me that this issue cannot be fixed. They said that software way it cannot be fixed and Garmin does not ship any hardware parts to fix. They proposed to change it with extra pay. Not sure that I want to do this. Hope no one will ever encounter this issue

  • That would be bad for Garmin ad it seems several people encountered the issue after updating the device to 17.50....

  • I have the same issue.

  • Version was updated to 18, but the problem still there. Wondering if Garmin engineers test before releasing it

  • The support suggested the same. They told me the engineers don't know what is going on. Shame, I had the watch for 15 months, and then is faulty. The version now is 18.10 but still have the problem of turning off.

  • Have the same problem. Watch crashes when I try to pause oder end an activity! Hard Reset, Factory Default or wiping data didn´t help!

  • Well... i sended my instict to the garmin, and they said the problem is in the processor plate. Price to put a new one: half price of the watch.

Man, they sale this produt like indestruble, and the main part of the watch junt broke in 1 year?

  • I had the option to sent to Garmin. But I think this is actually a factory issue, and paying for them to fix their issue is just nonsense.

I made a hard decision not to wear any Garmin anymore, and if someone ask me I would say they don't care about customer.
Go Apple, and you will never get this kind of nonsense
