DEM calibration before activity

When I calibrate the DEM manually it connects to GPS and after that retrieve the DEM data.
When I start an outdoor activity it also connects to GPS and I can start the activity.
As setting up a GPS connection takes 90% of the time. Why are the two not combined?

Due to the nature of the barometer (weather changing), it must be recalibrated at regular intervals.
It would be great if these two could be combined if the GPS connection is set up anyway.

  • If you have the auto-calibration enabled in the settings, then there is no need to do the DEM calibration prior the activity. That's what is then happening automatically. The calibration is only useful if you know exactly your altitude that differs considerably from the DEM detected altitude, and when you are entering the value manually,
