Workout session and course at same time error

Can I do training plan workout an navigate with course on Instinct solar as it doesn’t work on my solar surf instinct.

I can do this on my fenix 5. I select the suggested workout (todays workout) and then menu/navigation/courses. But this doesn’t seem to work on my instinct solar.

Basically the course won’t load despite being on the watch. Sometimes even trying to look at the map of the course on the watch won’t be visible (although same course is visible on fenix 5). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sorry. Should have clarified that I mean a running workout. I’m on 16.5. Thanks.

I have successfully done this with the Instinct Solar. I don't have a Surf edition, but I can't imagine that model would not be capable. Have you tried to navigate the course without running a workout just to make sure the course is not corrupt?

Thanks. I checked this and I think that’s the problem. No courses are being synchronised from Garmin Connect IOS app correctly, They are coming across but with no ‘map’ data so selecting them simply causes it not to load. This seems to be happening even with courses used on my fenix 5 so I know the course data is not corrupt but there’s definitely a transfer problem. I’ll go and log the issue with Garmin and see what they say. Thanks
