Instinct solar cadence too fast

I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting such a high cadence. Pretty sure I'm not the road runner so I'm thinking 360 spm is a little high

  • Yes, indeed 360 does not seem possible. Do you know your average cadence from other devices? Don't you move your hands in some atypical way when you run?

  • I don't have any other devices. I just run to Amazon music that plays at a 160bpm cadence.

I don't think I move my hands in a weird way but I'm going to try tightening the strap and moving it around to the inside of my wrist for better contact. Maybe that'll work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I don't have any other devices.

A phone app will do it too. I do not remember, but I think for example the Strava app could record the cadence.

  • I am sorry there is an issue.

    Please try the following:

Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off.

    - Test your issue again to see if resolved. If not, proceed to the full reset.

If you continue to have the cadence issue, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

  • Ok tried every reset and bought a HRM. Still won't keep an accurate SPM

Did you already try to measure your cadence with another device, or with the phone? I see you are sprinting pretty fast, so if you are shorter, perhaps the high cadence is finally not completely impossible. Myself, I can get to the cadence over 240 during sprints, and I am an old guy, not that fast anymore. I imagine someone in good shape, and not very tall, could have the max cadence significantly higher.

  • I'm not sprinting I'm just jogging at 160spm which is the orange section between the red and the purple. It's double counting each step after an initial correct few counts on each walk/run interval. If that makes any sense.

I did some troubleshooting with customer support and unpaired my HRM from my phone and only connected it to my watch. It tracked correctly for a 30 sec jog I'll try it on a longer run today and see if it worked.
