Solar instinct pauses on activities even thought autopause is off

After going over a mile, I checked the watch, and it said .05 and was paused. Ipushed the button for it to start again, it started again immediately paused itself. Trying to get it to continue tracking my hike was way too frustrating. I thought auto pause was the problem, but when I got back to the car and tried to turn it off, I discovered it was off. Why else would this watch pause itself?

I am sorry there is an issue. With the Auto Pause being off but the issue still taking place, your watch behavior might resolve with resetting it.

Please try the following:

Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

I am experiencing the same issue. I have tried the hard reset, but the issue still occurs. I have noticed that this usually happens when I have my inreach connected at the same time as I am in an Activity. Snowboarding and hiking for sure pause unexpectedly while the inreach is connected.

Not sure whether it is the culprit in your case, but you might have pressed the GPS button accidentally, which happens easily when you wear thick gloves, and bend the wrist. Lock the buttons, while in an activity (use a Hot Key or the Controls menu for that), and see whether it helps.

I've tested that theory. I have been sitting on a boat using the Track Me app and I've seen the activity pause for no reason. I didn't even move my wrist and it pauses. I think has something to do with the inreach mini being connected at the same time as running an activity. However, it seems that I am the only one that has this issue!

Did you lock the buttons during the test? If not, then you did not really exclude that it comes from the stuck button.

Yes, it is set to auto-lock! It is not a stuck button, because again, when I deactivate the inreach mini, I do not experience the issue.

In that case, reach out to the Suport as Garmin - Chris recommended, and have them create a ticket for the issue.
