WRONG TIDES!!!!

Mine is 3hs wrong, I’m in Indonesia surfing sharp reef breaks.. is the most expensive watch I ever had and doesn’t do the most important thing… for what a saw on the forums looks like no one is gonna fix it, Why not better make an update with 500 surf spots, that you could chose from the watch, even without internet like the Rip Curl watches, and will have your tides on the watch ready for the next 10 or 20 years, perfect accurate! Please grab a rip curl watch and see what I’m talking about… also the 3 days of tides is almost nothing, if you go to middle of no where, after 3 days your watch is worthless, it should be at least for an year, the information is accourate like the moon fades, every year you can get a free book with the tides by hour for the hole year, is just garmin that didn’t make it right. Probably just need a few mb of internal storage for keep all you coustomers happy!

  • Here the same. Garmin tides source its incorrect and they don't plan correct it.

  • Perfectly in accordance with you ! I regret my RipCurl watch for tides accuracy and no smartphone connection to give the tide on my watch.

Get the tides during a surf session is impossible today with Garmin. What an heresy !!!

  • I'm in Mozambique and same thing, the tide forecast is about an hour later than reality. You'd think in today's day and age they'd be able to sort it out.

  • I've written this before, and it's always deliberately misconstrued as trolling:

Garmin *do not care*. It's about selling new watches, not about getting rid of old bugs.

Their replies regarding tides are *ridiculous*, i.e. 'please contact the company that supplies us with tides'. Rip Curl and even some Casio watches have got offline formulae which approximate tides quite well. Garmin only does it online, and even this only badly. These problems, like so many others, i.e. altimeter calibration, crashes etc, have been going on *for years*. Their only response is to bring out new watches, feed Youtube-influencers and deny problems.

Nothing will *ever* change. Take back your watch, or be happy with the things that work. End of story.

  • Good advice. If they've not fixed tides after all this time. It's not going to happen.

I share the frustration - it's the most expensive watch I've ever had. In part I bought it for the surf features, including tides. My 10 year old cheap Casio does a better job.
