Why will my solar instinct not update to the new 16.5 firmware as indicated on Garmin Express? It’s currently on 16.13

My replaced solar instinct has currently got the 16.13 firmware but Garmin Express was showing a 16.5 update available for my old watch, why would this update not not be updating my new device?

Maybe it's because 16.5 is slowly being rolled out, perhaps by the last digit of the serial number or something like that. So it's this short time period where one watch was in the first batch and the other watch is in the last batch.

On the other hand, I would not recommend updating to 16.50 right now as the altimeter / barometer calibration bug really makes both functionalities pretty useless.

Is that a bug in the beta 16.5 version or is it present in all previous versions?

Since the v16.50 software just went to 100% release, we are in the early stages of confirming potential issues being reported through the forums and with interactions to Outdoor Product Support. I am still in the process of sending a direct PM message to those that have posted their issues in the forums.

I noticed in the update notes, that since v16 there was an update to improve gps tracking while surfing. What improvements were made?

there was an update to gps to improve surf tracking functionality. Hat improvements were made?
