Problem with my watch?

Hi all,

Had my Instinct Solar since Saturday and have noticed two incredibly annoying issues.

The weather records the temperature incredibly wrong. It’s current 7 degrees yet my watch never changes from 45 degrees. The % and wind is always the same. I’ve amended the permissions from my phone to a fixed location, rebooted both devices and nothing. Any ideas?

Also the calorie widget on the main display, shouldn’t this track cals consumed from mfp then subtract cals burnt leaving your cals left. The figure it gives you feels completely pointless, the cals burnt doing nothing adding the cals burnt doing exercise.

thanks

Andy

  • The figure it gives you feels completely pointless, the cals burnt doing nothing adding the cals burnt doing exercise.

That is absolutely correct. The calories consumed when doing nothing is called BMR. These are the calories that the body needs to maintain vital functions. This is a minimum requirement. These are the calories that the body consumes while lying awake and motionless. These calories are always there.
Any physical state beyond that are active calories. These are added as soon as you do more than lie awake and motionless. The BMR are nevertheless still consumed. So resting calories and active calories add up.

  • Hi bluefish, thanks for the response. I guess it's completely pointless to me, say I've burnt 1800 cals right now but eaten 4000 cals, it would make much more sense to my watch to say I'm in -2200 in the red! Just seems strange the connect app allows you to sync MFP with it but not take any of the useful stuff onto the watch display.

    Hope that makes sense!

  • My execution is a general explanation of calorie consumption.
Since I don't use MFP, I can't say anything about it. So I did not say anything about calories consumed, but only about calorie consumption. But for sure MFP and the watch will be up to date only after each synchronization with the Connect account.
