How can I manually sync an activity?

I have disabled "automatic sync" in Connect App under device and thougth I could initiate a sync by using "sync" in Control menue on the Instinct. But that doesn't work.

Is it necessary to enable "automatic sync" in the connect app?

And second: What is Sync on the device syncing, if not activities?

  • Unless you never intend to sync your saved activities and your wellness data to be viewed in Garmin Connect, there is not a reason to turn off syncing. Yes. Leave automatic sync on for everything to work correctly.

Your Instinct Solar records and syncs a wide variety of information. Some examples: your daily steps taken each day, your OHR data recorded while wearing your watch, sleep metrics when worn at night, your activities saved and their metrics along with the GPS course recorded for an outdoor activity etc. etc.

Garmin Connect web acts as your cloud backup for what has been saved using your watch. You will view your Garmin Connect account through a browser using any tablet or computer connected to the internet by going to www.garminconnect.com. The information in your Garmin Connect will come down to your Connect Mobile APP using your smartphone's Wi-Fi or Cellular data connection. If you get a new phone, as long as you use the same Garmin Connect account, you will continue syncing everything to the same Connect account.

You have the option to keep your Garmin Connect account private.
