Heart rate peaks while walking

Hello!

(Sorry for my poor Language, I am not native).

I have and Instinct Solar since June 2021 and I'm quite satisfied about it. The following problem is new to me:

The issue occurs quite often while walking, using the proper "sport mode" widget: my heart rate at a normal pace is usually 100/120, depending on terrain and daily physical condition. But expecially at the beginning and in the middle of the activity I sometimes have some impressive peaks in heart beat, like 160/170. The graphic shows only some seconds of peak; before and after the "episode" rythm excalates (and de-excalates) dramatically like 120/130/140 and reverse. It takes from one to two minutes to return at normal range.

I have thought immediately at a malfunctioning. The same malfunction I see when - rarely - my rest rate drops to like 35 for some seconds.

The fact is that I'm pregnant at the moment (17 weeks), so every "strange" signal from my body or potential health issues scares me a lot. I have been suffering from benign extrasystole from time to time, essentially for gastric issues and always at resting. In addiction to that, when the extra-beats occurs I usually feel them very well in my chest, and I have never sense a thing during Garmin peaks relevations (I discover the peaks reading the app at home, or rarely on the watch screen while happening. In this second case I control my beats with an "old school" chek, and I have never felt anything abnormal).

I used to run, hike, cycle and do weight lifting - before pregnancy - and I have never noticed such relevation problems with high heart rate activities. Consequently I don't know if the problem has followed some recent updates or if it has been around from the beginning, unnoticed to me, because I have never used the "walking" widget a lot in the past months.

Someone has experienced something similar? There is something I can do? Suggestions or ideas?

Thank you so much Two hearts

  • If your issue is only taking place during a walk activity but not at other times, there may be a physiological reason why your heart rate shows a rise or dip briefly while wearing your watch. The Support Center article may help. If you continue to notice your OHR readings issue taking place when in watch mode and during other activities too, it may be an issue with your watch or the sensor itself.
