Distance tracking on hockey field

I want to buy a sport watch, which can track the distance that I made during a hockey game.

Is the Garmin Instanct Solar capable of doing this?

If it's indoors, then no. If it's outdoors under clear sky then in theory it should work, but I suspect that accuracy would be rather limited, because GPS distance measurement usually does not work well for sports where there are frequent and rapid direction changes.
