Hello guys, so a month ago, I was on to find me a new fitness tracker, I'm not really into the smartwatch thing so the looks of the instinct solar and the battery life was the selling points that got me after reading a bit about the product. I got in my car, drove to my hometowns sport's shop and buy the solar instinct that appealed me the most looks wise: Camo. At the time of purchase I was unaware of the existence of the Surf Edition and it wasn't on stock on the shop so I didnt even see it. Note: Even if it would be there I would have picked the Camo by the looks because I wasn't informed enough and would never think logic wise that a company would withdraw features from other watches with the same hardware! WHAT THE ***! Why there is no VO2 max data on the watch either? Such a basic feature present on much cheaper Garmin products??!!??!!
So, two weeks on, I was finding strange that my watch add no tide data and surfing was absent of all the sports available on the watch. Problem: surf is my go to outdoors activity. The store wouldn't exchange the problem because there's no real issue with mine. So, I paid the same price as the surf edition, just to get a camo look??? Why would the surf edition just be position as that? The same watch has others but with a cool and surfy look? Why can't all solar instinct watches have surfing tracking and tide data?? Doesn't make any sense. But unfortunately after reading a bit here on the forum I guess it's just Garmin doing big corporate ***. My question to y'all is: IS THERE ANY WAY TO FLASH SURF EDITION FIRMWARE ONTO INSTINCT CAMO?
