Distance tracked difference between models

I replaced my Forerunner 235 with an Instinct Solar as the battery ran out on longer hikes. My partner still uses her 235 and this and the Instinct both track very different distances on a hike - today My partner wore her 235 and wore my old 235 and new Instinct watch. Both 235’s tracked 12.25 miles but the Instinct tracked the same walk as 11.06 miles. Why would this be and why such a huge difference? All watches are set to smart recording and GPS+GLONASS. TIA!

    To get a better idea if your GPS antenna in your Instinct Solar may be an issue, wear the 235 on one wrist and your Instinct on the other vs. having her wear both FR235s on each wrist.
