Can't get the correct tide times
I am stood on the beach. Set the tides location to my current location but all the tide times are still out.
Any ideas how to fix this or is it just terrible programming?

It doesn't work for me or the one other Garmin Instinct Surf owner I know so not sure where you are getting the 99% of watches work fine assertion.
Thank you for your response. I am constantly connected to my smart phone but tide data is always out no matter what I try.
Couldn't find the tidal info on world weather online but have sent them an email…
"Garmin chris" told me on this thread that garmin use NOAA for the states and world weather online for the rest of the world... I am in Cornwall, England.
Couldn't find any tide data on world…
What is even worse is that this has been an issue for 2 years! For example https://www.reddit.com/r/Garmin/comments/i5nhmg/incorrect_tide_data_on_instinct_solar/
This could help to the surfers from Atlantic Sea (North Spain & West France). I wrote manualy this GPS coordenates:
43° 21,3383 N 1° 45,5813" W
And the Watch finds a region which is called "Ahetze".
Curiously, this tides is quite good and you will have a 15 minutes error, but that is quite good information.
Do not ask me how I got it... just luck and try try try try try.
Best Regards
I have the new Instinct 2 Surf watch.
The tidal data is way out by one hour and 15 minutes.
I have tried and checked every setting. Nothing improves it
I check world weather online , no tide seems to be available
there, so I have emailed them.
This issue seems to go back to when the Garmin Surf was first
released and Garmin have done nothing to resolve it.
Thats very poor service. Considering the price of these watches.
One of the main reasons I bought this watch was for the tidal data.
Please resolve this issue ASAP.
Thanks
The same story in my case. Tides in Garmin have two issues:
- Tide data from the World Weather Online API is inaccurate
- when you're out in the water without connection, tide data disappear as it asks to have a bluetooth connection to phone (ridiculous, no? why would I buy garmin surf if I could have a phone in the middle of surfin/paddling/kayaking on the sea)
Both problems are absolutely on Garmin side. First one is realted to THEIR API provider. Garmin pays these guys for the API usage... The second one has a simple fix as to record the retrieved data on the watch untill the connection is re-established.
we are not WWO customers, we don't pay them for theur API, we haven't chosed them as a privider but Garmin did. Please, work with your supplier WWO to resolve the issue that is causing major safety problems for kayakers, surfers, skippers, paddlers, swimmers and these who rely on your instrument for accurate tide information. TIDES IT'S ABOUT SAFETY!!!!!! Getting into high tide in the wrong time/place may be a serious danger
You forgot - this has been an issue for TWO YEARS - https://www.reddit.com/r/Garmininstinct/comments/i4bghe/incorrect_tide_data_on_instinct_solar/
