Open water swimming - HR issues

Hello I have question.

I noticed on my watch, that watches does not show HR in open water swimming activity.
If I push button ABC during the activity, my HR on watch shows -.-.

After activity in garmin connect shows only average HR and maximum HR and here are usually the same data.

It doesn't show me any data in the graph. Is it normal or I have broken watch?

Thanks.

  • Is it turned on in your HR Widget Options (default)

Here is how to get there:

Turning Off Wrist-based Heart Rate While Swimming Wrist-based heart rate is turned on by default for swim activities. The device is also compatible with the HRM-ProTm accessory and the HRM-SwimTm accessory. If both wrist-based heart rate and chest heart rate data are available, your device uses the chest heart rate data. 1 From the heart rate widget, hold MENU. NOTE: You may need to add the widget to your widget loop (Customizing the Widget Loop, page 16). 2 Select Heart Rate Options > While Swimming > Off.

    Page 9 (Instinct®‎ Solar Owner’s Manual (garmin.com))

  • Thanks.

I thought that I had the feature turned on, but it was not.

I turned on HR *while swimming* and it’s working now. (:
