Swimming error tracking heart rate.

When I record a pool swim it records my heart rate at the point I start my activity but nothing after that point. As you can see in the screen shot the other sensors appear to be correct but the heart rate just doesnt track. Is this a setting I need to correct or some kind of error.

  • Have you added the Heart Rate Widget to your widget wheel yet? When you do, you will have the option to enable your OHR during swimming when you long hold your menu button in the widget and go into the settings.

    • Is OHR already enabled for your swim activity?
    • If it was already enabled, has your OHR ever worked for you in the past during pool swimming?
  • Yeah I've got the Heart OHR widget enabled. For todays swim I set my data screen view to be heart rate and max heart rate and again it captured it as I started but only one then it just showed a line for the rest of my swim. I even started it before getting wet incase water was causing the sensor to not read properly.

  • Thank you for the additional information. I am sending you a direct Private Message to work with you further.

  • What was the solution to this problem.  My Instinct Solar did this same thing today.  I have HR on my widget wheel.  My watch has successfully collected HR data when I just swim with the watch.  But when I use Pool Swim app it grabbed 62 BPM at the start and never took another reading.  Just a flat line.  I am on software version 16.00

  • I have the same issue.  I have it turned on in power settings and it has never read my hear rate correctly.

  • Hi Chris, how's it going?

I have the same issue with my Instinct Solar Surf with software version 17.00 - I've added multiple OHR readings to my widget wheel, but it doesn't track after the activity starts.

  • If you have your Settings > Sensors & Accessories > Wrist Heart Rate enabled for Swimming, when you review your OHR data on your Garmin Connect account, you should see your OHR data. Also, you can double check your OHR data for the entire day on your Garmin Connect account to troubleshooting your OHR sensor further.
