Show Course on Map

Hi,

I've just created (on the Explore Webpage/App) and imported (From a Hike website) some GPX on my Instinct Solar.

Is it normal not to see the Path on the map?

I remember that following these steps: Open Activities > Navigate > Courses > Open Course XXX > Map , I was able to see the Path of the Course on the Map even if I was at home and not near the site of the hike.

The problem is that, even following the above mentioned procedure, I can't see no Path on the Map. Naturally I've zoomed and searched the path but the only thing i see, on the map, are the Waypoints.

Maybe I'm wrong? Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance!

  • I can definitely see the map/route using your method above. However my routes are added as .FIT files from plotaroute.com, rather than created on the Explore app, as I have had greater success this way

  • Did you ever resolve this? I am having the same problem. I checked my points and made sure to use less than 50 points per course, but it still isnt working. I even used the course creation from the garmin explore website! All I see is the waypoints, but no track/course to follow. I see the title name, but it doesnt load any track path to follow.  I might try using the garmin connect website, but its much more clunky. Please advise me! Thanks!

  • IIRC, the Explore treats the waypoints and the courses or tracks separately. Have you verified that the course (or track) that you want is present in the collection that you sinchronized with the watch (possibly My First Collection)? The last time I used Explore was years ago, so this is all the help I can provide ( if it is helpful at all).

  • I got it to work by exporting my courses from explore and importing them into the connect site. Its a shame because the pathing tool is pretty intuitive on the explore site but is more clunky on the connect site. Waypoints work just fine so  I will continue to use that on the explore app. I have yet to try google earth so that will be my next one to try.

    Thanks for the help!

  • I bypassed the problem using the connect website directly. I use explore to only create the waypoints and if I want to create a Path I do directly into connect website.

The explore app never works properly and i still not understand why.

    Nobody does :)

Glad you have your problem solved, anyway. Enjoy your watch.

  • I create the route in the garmin connect and the track is not shown either. Only there is a waypoint named home and nothing else. I only have a route downloaded from wikiloc while watch was running 15.10 fw that s being displayed. Any advice how to solve the issue?

    regards.

  • Problem solved after perform a reset to factory default.
