I have a minor issue with the seconds display on the watch face in that the seconds will disappear, then reappear several seconds later.

The watch keeps accurate time, but the seconds will randomly disappear. Noticed when I was checking the seconds for a test. I have restarted the watch but the issue is still there. I also have an Instinct, no solar, and I do not have this issue with that watch. Is there a fix?

  • When you do not move the watch, the seconds disappear to save energy. It has been described here several times. It's not a mistake, it's part of a sophisticated user energy system.

  • Thanks for your reply. I also noticed that the heart rate function pauses as well. Not a big issue but again thanks for pointing me in the right direction. New to this site.

  • The heart rate still measures it. Therefore, if you do not have a battery saving profile set, where it should be disconnected. Otherwise, the heart rate is measured 24/7.

  • You will still see your OHR data on your Garmin Connect account for when you wear your watch. Information you do not temporarily see, IE: both your seconds and/or your OHR reading, is solely for the purpose to extend your battery life. The wellness data is still being actively recorded to your Instinct watch memory and the data will sync to your Garmin Connect account each day.
