Instinct Solar - 13.81 Public Beta

Hello Instinct Solar users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures! 

Please read the 'notes' and 'installation instructions' in the 'Updates and Downloads' page found in the link below. We look forward to your feedback!

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

13.81 Change Log Notes:

  • Fixed course navigation issue where the course would not be found again after going off course.  
  • Fixed Explore Sync issue where course distance and time values would be 0.

For any issues that you encounter, please send an email to [email protected]. In your email please include the software version, and a detailed description of your issue, along with any steps to reproduce. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.

    Yes - click the link in the OP, and then click the button Download on the page it opens. The page works in any browser, regardless of the OS

    After installing this beta an in Garmin Connect created route synced to the device did again have proper on/off-course notifications and turn-by-turn instructions. Have not tried .GPX imported via explorer yet.

    I tested course navigation issues in 13.81 today. Whilst some bugs are fixed (e.g. on / of course alerts, distance to way points etc), others remain broken.

    1. The orientation of the route and the arrow denoting my location on it only works when I am moving. As soon as I'm stationary, the route swings between 90 and 180 degrees out of kilt, making things very confusing.

    2. The 'heading arrow' (in the smaller circular window) appears not to work independently of overall orientation - and is of limited help.

    More to do Garmin - please get these basics right ASAP - navigation worked well before the last public release.

    Explore Sync still does not work correctly. Route created in Explore and imported shows only overall length and time, but has no points and elevation plot.

    More strange navigation behaviour from Instinct Solar on 13.81 today during trail run. I needed the data screen in navigation to stay on the route screen. The route I was following changed direction regularly and at times I needed to check multiple times over a minute or two. Each time I selected the route the data screen, within a few seconds, the watch kept changing back to the top of the scroll list of options, meaning I had to keep taking my eyes off the trail to scroll thought the data screens to get back to the route; both frustrating and dangerous.

    Though Routes converted to Tracks in Explore Web UI sync corretly.

    If you are sure you followed all the steps correctly, and it did not install, then you probably do not own a device compatible with the firmware you tried to install. That can be the case for example at APAC devices, or when you try installing Instinct Solar firmware on a regular Instinct (or vice versa).

    Tengo el instint solar, he descargado el archivo, extraído el gupdate.gcd en la carpeta garmin del reloj pero no se como ejecutarlo
