Issues with solar charging

Does anyone else have issues with solar charging? Mine does not seem to charge anymore (after 12.2 update??) I've left it in the sun for quite a while and nothing happens (battery is not fully charged). Sometimes when I am recording an activity (such as running), it'll show a small blip even if I'm wearing long sleeves and the watch face is covered. Tried to restart, but no difference.

    I'm on 12.2 as well.

    Solar Charging seems to be working, but the battery is still losing energy.
    The watch showed full solar input, but lost 1% in two hours.

    Update from me: sent the watch back and got a new one running with 12.20.
    No Problems anymore.

    Solar works perfectly and the battery lasts really long.

  • Mine looks even more weird...

    Let's say the battery is half charged. If I put the watch under the sun 3-4 hours the Solar seems to work, the number of days of the battery can go up even by 100 days, but the battery does not actually charge much if nothing at all.

  • If I move in the sun, I have a battery of 50% in the morning and 54% in the evening, which is great!

  • Update: sorry I haven’t updated….. but I ended up sending the watch back and garmin sent me a new one. It’s been a few months, gone through several software updates and seem to work fine now.

  • Mine's solar charge died too. I sent it back to garmin and they send me new one today. It is working for now...

  • I had a similar problem. Solar charging stopped working after 8 days of using. I sent watches back to the seller and got new one.

  • Yes got the same problem - trouble is cannot find receipt and Garmin say it's a hardware issue - effectively saying its a problem they know about - but although i have given them the serial number they say they cannot do anything without a receipt - so poor level of customer service from such a large company.

    Apple - pop in there with an issue and they get serial number and then fix any issues - just like you would expect from a market leading brand.

    I really don't know why given they have admitted it's a known fault and effectively a product recall fix - swap out the watch - that they wouldn't want to have users have the BEST customer experience.

    The fenix 6x pro solar is the premium product and i just am perplexed about this level of customer service - can only really take to social media and express my levels of dissatisfaction not of the product - but of the level of customer care - shocking !!!!

     

  • I don't know what country you are from, but you also don't need a receipt in the Czech Republic. Just send, or a solemn declaration that the watch is yours.
