Daily 'Storm Warnings'

Got an issue where I've received an almost daily 'storm warning' for the last 9 days. Sometimes two a day.

Looking at the barometer at the time there's a clear spike/depression before resettling.

Any similar issues? Has a simple recalibration helped?

Cheers,

  • Is your question why you've been getting the alerts, or how you can change the alert trigger? I don't have an Instinct, but on my 945 I can set the parameters for the alert in the barometer widget.

  • I have had the same experience lately. I didn't change anything.

  • Sorry probably should have been more specific. No issue with the alert being on (it's quite useful) or the +/- 4mb pressure difference to trigger. More the fact that it's been going haywire for no reason.

As tempermental as UK weather is I didn't realise I was in such a tropical micro-climate!

  • A simple calibration appears to have sorted it. Two days without an alert, which shouldn't feel like a success but strangely does!

  • More the fact that it's been going haywire for no reason.

One possible reason could be that the pressure sensor port got cloged with dirt, water, or sweat, you applied some pressure against the hole by bending your writst (yes, the hole is right there, assuming you wear it on the left hand), and the pressure started to slowly release as the moisture evaporated, triggering so the alert.
