Instinct Solar - 11.00 Public Release Candidate

Hello Instinct Solar users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

11.00 Change Log Notes:

  • Improved Broadcast Heart Rate and added support for simultaneously broadcasting through ANT+ and Bluetooth. (Requires BLE/ANT 2.10)
  • [Surf] Fixed issue where tide chart field on watch face could show incorrect next tide time.

    Since attempting a reset, and a persistent failure of the Pulse Ox, I tried wearing the watch on the inside of my wrist.  And it worked.  At least once.  I will next be performing a master reset on the watch, to see if that renders an improvement.

    I tried every step I knew to reset the watch, in order to get the Pulse Ox to function after the update to ver 11.0.  I got the Pulse Ox to work only once.  After giving up, I rolled back the software to version 10.10.  The Pulse Ox now works as it did prior to the 11.0 update.

    The version 10.10 is included in the version 11.0 download.

    Update to Ver10.00 has serious problem, baro meter always 83886. Will ver11 fix this issue? When will it be released?

    Garmin posted a fix by a rollback of the sensor hub firmware:

    Thank you! I have the exact same problem. Nightly Pulse Ox automatic readings are no problem. But trying to start one manually does not work. Never finishes, never times out, the wheel just turns.

    What does work is:

    (1) take off the watch, try to start the pulse ox measurement "in the air". The watch recognises this and internally resets some state(?)

    (2) put the watch back on your wrist, and now the first manual pulse ox measurement works without a problem.

    (3) trying to perform another measurement does not work until (1) - (2) are carried out again... very unpractical

    I contacted the support with a detailed bug description and did not get a reply just instructions for how to send my watch back (and wait 10 days). But why?! I dont think anybody read my description, I definitely think its a software problem and not hardware. Not interested in sending my watch back to wait 10 days for "something" to happen.

    not happy, might just send it back via amazon and get something else.

    Not quite true; you can

    (1) remove watch from wrist

    (2) start measurement "in the air" -> the watch notices this and quickly stops measuring

    (3) now put watch back on and the FIRST manual measurement works again

    (4) unfortunately, you have to do steps (1)-(3) each time you want to measure :D

    Does the watch loose its settings if I downgrade from 11 to 10.10?

    I could not say for certain, as I had performed a master reset prior to the rollback.  I would assume so.

    Yes, any rollback resets the settings completely

    Same issue here, did everything except software downgrade, nothing hped.
