Remaining battery

This is weird. With phone connected 18 days without 17 days??

is there any other way to turn off bluetooth? Airplane mode?

  • I noticed that too. It's probably a bug.

  • Instinct uses BTLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), and switching it off won't have any significant impact on the total consumption of the watch. It consumes a few nA (nA = one billionth of ampere!) when idle, a few µA (µA = one millionth of ampere) when advertising, and a few mA (mA = one thousands of ampere) when broadcasting (just a few milliseconds up and then). BTLE devices are often powered with a small button battery, and can run over a year witthout battery replacement or recharging.

In other words, I would not bother with turning the BT off.

The estimated remaining battery life value changed, because the BT has no significant impact, while you increased the momentary consumption by refreshing the screen to change the setting, hence influencing the total consumption used for the calculation, more than the BTLE.

  • I know about ble. I think you are not correct becuse if i go in to power manager and battery saver,  if i turn of bluetooth i get 3 more days. See picture. Question is why i dont get 3 more days when I turn of phone connection in settings. I loose a days when i do this

I do not know, but I wonder why don't you use the power manager then, if it gives you better estimates.

  • Power manager is only for battery saver. I dont want to  have the watch all the time in battery saver mode

  • Personally, I'd tell the influence of BTLE is really negligible, and strongly doubt you'd get 3 days more by turning it off. I'd not bother with turing it off at all.

  • Something is wrong in the sofware. Power manager or turning off bluetooth in settings. No mather how much ble drains power it should be the same in all settings

Not really. If you turn off BT when in full mode, the immediate change of the power consumption is totally negligible in comparison to the immediate total power needs. Hence it can even lead to the lower estimate (because of the immediate power consumption increased due to the display refresh). While at the power manager, the reduced consumption of power is projected to the time when all other power consumers are shut off, hence the total consumption is at its minimum, and the small contribution of the BTLE may be more noticeable.

  • I have every thing in power save mode on except bluetooth. Just like power save is not on so it cant be like you say. If you have a watch with power manager i recomend you to test instead. I think that bluetooth dosent turns of when i do it in the settings. I think it is a bug.

Mine does. Install a BTLE scanner app (such as for example the BLE Scanner for Android), and you'll be able to see what BTLE devices are on in the proximity. My Instinct disappears when BT is turned off.
