  • Hi all, especially Slight smile

Garmin's claim is 24 days battery life plus 30 days additional battery life if i daily solar-charged it 3 hours/day under good sunlight. As a result of my analysis (that it is hard to explain here) the watch has to gain %1 charge in 35 minutes under bright sunlight. Today i put my watch into a glass cup with water filled under the bright sun light for 45 minutes in battery saving mode. Then i checked it and saw that the battery increased from 80% to 82%. That means it gained approx. 2% in 45 minutes under sunlight.

As a result I can say clearly that there is no solar charging problem in version 10.0

And in addition we all wish a additional battery consuming page to the watch. That could be included a battery percentage - time graphic also indicates the source of energy "usb or solar". Thanks in advance

    Regards.

    installation instructions

Greetings fellow Instinct Solar owners! I recently jumped on the Garmin bandwaggon. I wish to manually install the 10.00 Public Release Candidate on my Instinct Solar but I can't find any instructions on how to do it. Could somebody spell out the installation instructions or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

  • If this is “intentional”, then you may want to go back and have a conversation with your programmers.

  • I had a conversation before posting the confirmation to you. This is indeed by design.

We wanted to give our customers a clear-cut visual difference between a charging/non-charging state.

  • The screen goes blank while running, is this on purpose? or any mistake?

  • Take a look on the device via computer, if there is a debug folder with a ram files and other files; if yes, copy this folder and send it to the instinct fw team.

  • After completing the run, the run was correctly saved, I think that "battery saving" may affect it

I'm waiting for some administrator to confirm.

  • This will occur if you have a power mode enabled that disables the display. (ex. Menu>Settings>Power Manager>Power Modes>Max Battery>Display>Time Out)

Gesture and button press will wake it back up. This same feature is on fenix 6 series/MARQ.

  • Now with the new 10.00 firmware I noticed that the charging diagram in the watchface shows higher bars than in the solar widget. Before, the bars were always at the same height. I added the two photos where you can see it well.

  • Why does neither the Garmin Connect App nor the Instinct Solar Watch inform you that a new update is ready to be installed? I only see this when I go to Settings> System> Software Update on the clock.
