Will features of the Instinct Solar that do not require the new sensors be backported to the "old" (non-solar) Instinct?
After all, both watches are running on the same platform.

Which features are you referring too? And when you say backported, do you mean added by a FW update or side loaded?
I wonder you owning all Garmin watches because you comment on all forum page’s almost on every single device series Forerunner,Fenix,Instinct,Tactix and many more this is really strange
I…
Expecition activity for example. Or the new battery saving features.
And all the things that might be implemented in future.
Since both watches share the same firmware, Expedition mode…

I'd tell as strange as you looking at the posts of all those devices. Do you own them all, too?

I've had or still own a VA3, FR235, 935, 945 and F6.

What's so strange about it? As trux asked, did you visit all those forums because you own all those watches too? If you don't, that would be really strange. Anyway, they're all related in some way or another. I don't need to own a 645 to comment on how the barometer works if that question is posted in their forum.

Since both watches share the same firmware, Expedition mode is most likely there, but it is hidden on the old Instinct. Even though they could easily enable it, I doubt it.This is one of the things that justifies the higher price.
As for the power saving feature - no, it is technically impossible. It mostly affects how the new HR and GPS sensors work. The rest of the power management settings include disabling the Bluetooth, disabling Activity Tracking etc, that you could already do by going directly to the specific setting. These result in insignificant gains, so I don't think they are worth it, unless you are in the middle of nowhere and really need to see the time (because that's the only thing you would be able to do) for several extra hours.
