i cant find info on how to load the dpi maps onto the device.
Have you an SE or an Explorer? Isn’t only the Explorer able to display/load maps? Do you use Win or Mac systemfor connecting the device to the computer? Sorry, we need some more informations…
If you have an Explorer and a Mac or Win System Running, that may help:

But I don’t know, if the old Delorme device is able to use the regular img maps, that the Garmin devices are using.
its a garmin inreach explorer+, im using with earthmate app on my phone.
i am using windows computer to download the kmz maps but i cant load them onto the device.
is there a way i can do this? otherwise can i create custom maps with exclusion dones and load it onto the device?
Where does it say the Explorer+ supports KMZ maps?
That clearly indicates that waypoints and track logs in KMZ format can be imported. Does not indicate the device supports KMZ maps.
For these devices, you can only use the maps that are available to you at explore.garmin.com. Legacy devices use maps in the old DeLorme format. That's all they can read.
