Inreach Explorer+ not Sending text messages

My InReach Explorer+ is not sending text messages.  It sends email notifications,  but not text messages.  I've applied the most recent update, restarted the device, but still not sending text messages.

Suggestions on how to fix?

  • This is a server-side problem. Nothing to do with the device itself. There are no currently reported incidents with SMS. Periodically, various cell carriers decide to block SMS messages containing short links. As a workaround, you can try disabling inclusion of the link to the map in the SMS message. To do so, look in the lower right corner of the Account tab at explore,Garmin.com. Just change the setting. No sync required.

    if that fixes the problem, it’s the recipient’s cell provider. Open a support ticket. Garmin will then work with the cell provider to fix the problem.

    If it does NOT fix the problem, open a support ticket. Might be some kind of issue with your account. 

    But the most likely cause is the short link issue with the cell provider.
