Is live tracking between Explorer+ units possible on the Personal Plan?

I've been told that the Professional Plan allows inReach Explorer+ users to see the tracks of others in the same team.  Is it possible for 2 users on the Personal Subscription Plan to see the live (for example, every 10 minutes) of another inReach Explorer+ user?  In this example 2 hunters who separate into different areas for the day.  Thank you, Tony

  • I don't know the answer to this. I suspect that the answer is no. If nobody else chimes in, you'll probably have to call tech support to get a definitive answer.

I also do not recall if the legacy units support "navigate to a message" or "navigate to a received location" (which are really the same thing in iR to iR communication). This is not the same as being able to see the other track. But it would provide the ability to "meet up" as needed. One device sends a message to the other. The second device then navigates to the location from which the message was sent.

  • Thanks, you're correct.  Garmin support said the same.   I also asked another very experienced user they were also very helpful saying that yest it can be done on the Professional Plan "... but “team Tracking” as they call it is horrendously expensive as it involves delivering tracking data both ways twice. The best way is to message between themselves at regular intervals. They are not designed to be like the Rino or Alpha series. If they want that functionality they would be better with the Alpha 200i but a lot more expensive."
