Brand new device stuck in test mode and cant get out of that screen, help?

Brand new device stuck in test mode and cant get out of that screen, cant get activation number. tried the following steps and nothing works....

Soft Reset: Hold down the back arrow button and power button together that will soft reset the device.

Firmware Update Mode: Hold the up arrow button, return button, and power button.

Hardware Reset: Fully reset the device – return arrow button, power button, down arrow button all at the same time and that will fully reset the device.

Syncing: Try and connect it to the computer and sync it.

I'm having the same problem, tried all of the above steps. Brand new out of box device. Can't get an activation number to even start an inReach account. Get a menu when it starts up with "Test Mode" highlighted in blue. Then the following menu list Device Information, Display, Sounds, Iridium Transmission Test, Map Checksum, and Format File System......"Device information" gets me the IMEI number but no activation code and no "Setttings" option. Do I just have to take it back or is there a way out of this? Seems there should be a way out of this since I only just got it out of the box.

Call tech support. Device should never start in this mode.

Some devices have an option to boot into test mode every time, and may need to be reset to off.

I no longer have any active legacy devices so I can’t check. I don’t recall this option. Can you locate it in the menu structure for the OP?

I need to know what models these users are having trouble with. Some of the terms they use in the description of their problems do not reflect the devices this forum is named for.

Same problem here.
Brand new never used, stuck in "Test Mode"

Did you find a way to start it in normal mode?

Ok i searched the whole internet and found a solution.
This worked for me.

Power off the inReach
Press and hold the X, DOWN, and Power buttons simultaneously
- The device should power on into Firmware Update Mode:
Press and hold the SOS button for about 5 seconds. Once the LED flashes green and red, release the SOS button
- Important: Before performing this step, verify that the device is in Firmware Update Mode as shown in the image above
Power off the inReach by pressing and holding the Power button
Once powered off, power the inReach back on
Sync your inReach on the computer. For steps, see - Updating inReach Firmware and Syncing Account Changes with inReach Sync

Your device is now reset and should be functioning normally.
