inReach as a GPS for GAIA GPS

I have an In Reach Explorer that bluetooth connects to my wifi only IPad via Earthmate. Earthmate is okay but not nearly as good as GAIA. I show that the IR is connected to Earthmste but will not connect to GAIA. How do I make this happen?

Not in a position to test this. But I would have expected it to work. On i-Things, the iR devices are exposed to applications via the normal locations services interfaces. AFAIK, the only control the application has over which GPS is used is based on the requested accuracy.

Unless somebody else chimes in, you're probably going to have to call tech support on this one.

I did call tech support and the person I spoke to didn’t know if it should work. He was not well informed. Tech support was not helpful. He suggest I call Apple.

Sorry tech support was not helpful. Suspect Apple will be even less helpful, but you can try.

Edited to add: You might actually have better with Gaia developers.
