Corrosion on InReach Explorer+ USB jack?

Just got a brand new InReach Explorer+ - I'm wondering how corrosion resistant the USB connection is?

If the unit gets considerable salt spray and some get inside the little rubber flap, will it corrode?

You might want to keep it inside a zip-lock bag most of the time; that will improve buoyancy too.

It might corrode if it has prolonged contact with seawater, and especially when you connect something to it while still wet. Incidental contact with seawater should be no problem, given you take care to rinse it with fresh water and let it dry thoroughly.
