I am trying to register a used unit as above prior to activating. I have inputted an IMEI Code verbatim with 16 digits. Try to move on with the next button but the explore.garmin site blocks me saying the IMEI code must be at least 15 digits. 16 is more than 15!!!

I haven’t purchased a plan as I assume it needs to be activated first. It’s driving me mad.

any help please.

Are you sure your code is 16 digits because the IMEI for both my 67i and mini 2 is 15 digits. That is the definition of an IMEI number. The original mini above, an online screen shot of one, has 15 digits. Check this site it shows older models of inreach devices as well as new ones, so I think this is for all models. You can find the IMEI number in settings- system-about, on your device.

Thank you. Yes. I have checked and rechecked it’s showing 16 digits. It’s driving me nuts.

Interesting, maybe there are too many IMEI numbers now so they had to add another digit. I once had a Delorme inreach and was wondering how many digits it had. Well unless someone else has an idea soon I would just call Garmin technical support and I’m sure they will be able to help you out. You can just leave your phone number and they usually call you back pretty quick.

It sounds like what you have is an IMEISV. Did you get this from the screen display (as described elsewhere in the thread), from a label on the unit, from the box, or someplace else? If you did not get it from the screen, try that one. If you got it from the screen, open a support ticket.
