Map link sent in received preset emails but NOT in received SMS preset msgs

I have ticked all 3 boxes (and synced) in the Express App SMS Message Configuration section including the box "Include a link to an online map with the location of my message (not a MapShare map link)." The preset SMS messages receive the lon/lat coordinates but NOT a link to an online map. The EMAIL preset messages DO contain a link. This doesn't match with the manual or FAQs supplied.

All of this happens server-side. It should not even require a sync. If it behaves as you describe, you should open a support ticket.

I believe that there have been times in past when Garmin has temporarily suppressed the link in the SMS messages for all accounts. This typically occurs when a cell provider has decided to block messages containing short links. Sometimes Garmin removes them for everybody so that the messages go through until they can sort it out with the provider.

I'm not saying that's what's happening here. Just that it has happened in the past.

Thank you. I sent an email support to Garmin on 22 Feb - radio silence ....

Based on forum posts, email is the worst possible channel for Garmin support. Folks seem to get better results with phone (preferably) or chat. Email seems to be a black hole.

1) Garmin confirmed that (as per your suggestion) that the NZ cell providers block messages containing short messages. Therefore Garmin suppresses the map links in the SMS messages for NZ recipients. Not alot else to be done - will just send emails where needed.

2) Garmin phone support was excellent (also your other suggestion!)
