InReach Mini and Edge 1030 connection notification spam

I have my InReach Mini connected to my Edge 1030 via Ant+ and I get a LOT of connection messages on the Edge that the InReach is connected.

Is this just a symptom of InReach reconnecting to the Edge whenever it finds an Iridium satellite? How can I maintain the connection and drop the spam?

More likely, this is a symptom of a poor ANT+ connection between the two devices. I have no experience with the Edge 1030. Wearable "remotes" like the fenix watches tell you when they re-establish the ANT+ connection. Try carrying the two devices closer together. If nothing else, try to avoid having your body between the two devices.
