This depends to some degree on the particular inReach device, which you do not specify. It also depends on whether you want the .gpx to appear as a track or as a navigable "route" (aka "course", depending on where you're coming from in Garmin-land).
The scenario that works for most iR devices is as follows. Import the .gpx into the Explore web site (explore.garmin.com, from the Map tab) as a route. Sync the route to the iR device using the appropriate mechanism (which, depending on the device, might be a wired sync using the desktop sync program and a USB cable, an OTA sync using the Earthmate mobile app (legacy Explorer+ or SE+, and the Mini), or an OTA sync using the Explore mobile app (newer iR devices)). After the sync, the route should show up on the device and you should be able to navigate it.
Newer iR devices, such as the 66i and the Montana 7x0, are full members of the Garmin ecosystem. You have more ways to get tracks and routes onto those devices. In particular, you can mount the device in mass storage mode (as a removable USB "drive" or MTP device) and transfer .gpx files directly to the appropriate folders on the device. This can sometimes result in routes with more points (the Explore site "thins" the input to create a route with fewer points.) You may also be able to use BaseCamp, although updates are very, very infrequent and use with newer devices may be limited.
Hi, you are in the InReach Mini forum and if that's your device then it's not worth it. Following the GPS track on your phone with Explore app will be much better and in airplane mode your phone will last awhile anyhow. That said, sometimes I send my track to the mini just as backup. if you are considering this as primary means of navigation on a Mini then by all means try it out on a made up course in your neighborhood before taking it into the wilderness.
