Have been using my inReach Mini for several years and it has been extremely reliable. One of the few issues I have with it is the auto-on feature when plugged into an external power source. I know there is an auto-off option for UNPLUGGING from external power, but can't find a way to disable the device from auto-powering ON when I plug in to recharge. I have my device set to auto-track for safety purposes, so when I plug in, it turns on and starts tracking, which wastes power as it searches for a signal from inside the home. I can manually turn it off once it finishes its start-up process (~10 sec) which is not really a problem but sometimes I will forget this step and it will be 'tracking' for days/will take longer to recharge which can be critical when I have a limited window to charge it (i.e. Muir Trail Ranch food re-supply on the JMT). I don't see why this would be an automatic feature, either, as I'm assuming most users are recharging when they are home/stationary/not in the back country. Is there a way to change this? If not, Garmin, can you add this in a future firmware update?
