Can't Connect to Explore.garmin.com

Hello All,

Trying to activate a new Garmin InReach mini. I've gone through the activation steps on my PC and the inreach seems to be active. However, the Garmin website is automatically redirecting me to the activation page (at which you enter the IMEI and confirmation code or whatever).

Do I need Garmin to fix this?

Did you enter the IMEI and Activation Codes from your inReach Mini?

Yes, I did that when I initially set up the account. When it redirects me to the page now, it says the device has already been activated and reloads the activation page...

I did get a message on my Inreach mini that said the device was not fully active and needed a user assigned. It said to go to explore.garmin.com and assign one.... but I can't reach the website when logged in!

Maybe the Mini never completed it's side of the activation?

Place the MINI outside in clear view of the sky, while powered on for >30 minutes...

Do not do this inside any structures. The inReach MINI has horrible GPS antenna and reception.

Thanks, I've done that. Had it outside at the beach yesterday with a clear view of the sky for about 3 hours. Checked for updates several times and got that message about needing to assign a user but that was it.

Is your inReach MINI running firmware v2.80? (if not, please update it).

Yep, installed the Garmin express app and updated it a few days ago.

I would recommend trying to clear your web browser history and cache, then visiting explore.garmin.com to log into your account as an existing user. If it's still taking you to page prompting you to enter your IMEI number and Auth code, you may have missed entering some information when activating it at first -- try entering the IMEI number and Auth code again and it should take you into your account or the point in the sign up process where the information was missed. FYI this is working now. I did not change anything between yesterday and today, and it started working today. I'm not sure if it just took several days for the activation to go through, or if someone fixed an issue on the back end.

For anyone else who has this issue, I'd follow the steps above and then contact product support. I believe this was a backend account activation problem.
