Track missing from default collection

In last three months, my inReach MINI has gone from good to completely broken. The most annoying recent issue is this: I have it set to to record everything in Current Mapshare collection. I have this shared online with people I need to via Mapshare. Last week, it worked fine. Today, my hike got recorded but it wasn't added to the appropriate collection. Which means it may just as well have not been recorded.

This is basic functionality I rely on. Even if this gets fixed this is a huge issue - the main reason for having device such as InReach and having tracking enabled is that if anything happens is that people have my tracklog. Yet if the track doesn't get added to the proper collection, they don't. And if that happens even once, as it did now, I am going to get worried that it can happen again - Garmin, please, this device needs to be reliable. I will contact Garmin about it first thing Monday, but at this point, I just wonder if someone has experienced same issue.

My test track from this morning landed in the proper default collection and showed up on MapShare. In my case, the default is the legacy Library collection.

This morning (for the very first time), my selection for the "active collection" for this device actually seemed to stick when I set it. In the past, my selection always reverted to the dummy "make a selection" entry in the list. Never mattered because I have only one collection for this device.

You may want to revisit the Plans & Devices tab at inreach.garmin.com to make sure that the correct collection is selected for your device. I know your screen shots above indicate that it is properly selected. But something changed on the web site in the past couple of days. You might just want to make sure your selection has not been lost or altered.

I wasn't able to replicate this after my initial experience. All the following track did end up in proper default collection and show up in my mapshare as intended. So I assume this was a one off bug that was since fixed. Still kind of annoying, since for all practical purposes my tracking wasn't working on that day (because nobody could see the track), but at least it's hopefully fine now.
