Deleting routes

Man I seem to be having a hard time with this thing. The software and mini itself is not intiutive. I think it's syncing now although insyc just seems to keep running nonstop whereas before it would finish.

My latest problem is deleting routes. I tried to delete routes on my the inreach map dealio online (no idea what that's called anyone know?). nothing would delete. I tried deleting them in earthmate and then they deleted.

I tried to create a new route by exporting a track and reimported as a route, well it created 63 routes for some reason and I cannot delete them. I click on the trashcans in the route tab and then clickdelete and nothing. How do I delete this stuff? And bonus question how do I turn one of my tracks into a route?

Answering my own question, they all got synced to the mini (I thought there was a limit of 20) and I deleted them in the earthmate app and resynced and they were gone online. Not how I would expect that to work at all. Still curious as to how to turn one of my tracks into a route.

You had it right. Export the track from the inreach.garmin.com web site as .gpx. Import the GPX back into the web site. If you are offered a choice, import it as route not a track. Then sync to get the resulting route back to the inReach device.

I don't import/export very often. I have never seen the symptom where the track is imported as multiple routes. Best guess would be that for some reason the track was exported originally as multiple track segments rather than as a single segment. Then each segment was imported as a separate route. No way to tell unless you have the .gpx that was exported from the web site. If so, you can examine it with a text editor like Notepad.

Either way, it sounds like a web site bug. If it happens again, you might want to call support. I don't know how helpful they'll be, but it's worth a shot.
