Confused about the firmware version

On the website eur.inreach.garmin.com I see the message "InReach update available. A software update is available for your inReach. For best results, install the update before using inReach again".

I update the firmware whit inReach Sync and whit Garmin Express, but on the website, I still see the message "update available".

The situation is confusing:
• on the forum: Current Software Version: 2.20
• on GarminExpress: Versione 2.20
• on the InReach Mini: firmware: 2.2.0 (172062)
• on Earthmate: Firmware 2.2
• on the website (eur.inreach.garmin.com): A software update is available for your inReach

2.20 and 2.2.0 are different for me.
If for garmin they are the same, because the website says "A software update is available"?

There is little clarity on the version number.
  • Interesting. My device, Earthmate app, and Garmin Express (Mac) are similar to what you stated. I can't find the firmware part in the inreach.garmin website. All I see is my device, and it's info like IMEI, service plan, plan renewal, etc.
  • 2.20, 2.2, and 2.2.0 are the same thing. I have no idea why the mini itself displays it differently than everybody else.

I suspect the the update available message is just plain wrong. I haven't seen the message at all lately. But in the past, it has persisted even after a wired sync via the inreach.garmin.com web site. If a wired sync does not offer an update, there is no update available. I am less familiar with updating via Garmin Express, but I would expect the same thing to be true there.
  • I entrust my life to Mini.
The confusing version numbers are not a good start.
I hope the software is better!

Also for Earthmate it is 2.2
