12 hour lag between my Montana 750i location and the mapshare/maps location

Team,

The location shown on both MapShare and the Garmin Explore website are about 12 hours behind my actual location. As a safety device this is not acceptable.

Have I set something up that has created this lag, or is this a system error? If it is a settings issue, can someone point me to the fix?

Previous inReach units I've used the lag was only a few minutes after the tracking interval, so basically a live feed.

  • There are no recent (reported) outages for Explore web site and Mapshare.

    First thing to check is to be sure that you had a clear sky view. If not, it's possible that the actual transmission from the device to the Iridium satellites was delayed.

    The next thing that comes to mind is display of cached data by your browser. The conventional wisdom here would be to clear the cache and cookies. However, you probably cannot prove anything this way unless you have sent additional points (after the time you see in the browser).
