86sci Weird Battery Draining Issue

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 86sci. I charged it to full about a week ago, put it in my belt case for a week, and took it out to use it today, and the battery is almost at zero

What might be causing the battery to drain down completely, while the unit is off, and sitting on my belt, in its case, doing nothing?

Make sure the unit is actually off - rather than in expedition mode. Otherwise, it could well be a hardware problem. Has this ever happened before?

twopert: I've been through a number of things since I posted this, including downgrading to 8.8--which solved the **apparent** issue, but I'm not certain there ever was an issue.

So, I just updated to 9.00 again through Garmin Express on my own pc. I also spoke to a Marine Technician at Garmin. I have the unit set so it doesn't record anything while the unit is off. I'm going to let it set on my belt for at least four days and see what comes of it.

I figure I'll have my answer after a week. I'll re-post here on this thread when I know more, to share it with the community.
